Description
Tesseract Minis is an established UK-based commission painting studio. The owner, Stuart Waddicor, has been painting miniatures since 1996. In recent years, Stuart has developed a passion for teaching and a strong desire to help others in the figure painting community.
Black Sun Studios has paid considerable attention to ensuring our students are comfortable and confident, whether they attend one of our studio manager’s beginner classes or a weekend workshop with a well-known instructor. We are now able to offer, on a regular basis, classes and workshops that provide a transition from beginner and intermediate levels to the more challenging subjects covered in a workshop.
This carefully structured class, combined with Stuart’s skills and teaching ability, offers a perfect introduction for those taking their first steps toward display-level painting, without limiting their ability to develop their own style. During this class, students will paint the iconic Connor bust sculpted by Ivan Mata. Focusing largely on skin tones and how to modify them, you will learn how to add effects such as stubble, bruising, scratches, scars, and other details. This will help you create more realistic and detailed skin textures, adding depth and character to your artwork. Stuart will support and guide you throughout the day as you learn essential techniques to improve your painting skills. By the end of this class, you will have a solid foundational understanding of portraiture in 3D. You will also have a foolproof, easy-to-follow system for painting skin tones, hair, and even some basic non-metallic metals.
